Apparently I have to keep blogging, the fun of this has really worn off.

We have been learning about time management and how tasks can be urgent or not, important or not and how to fit them into life.

We have also looked at stress and how it affects people and what we can do to less its affects or even reduce stress altogether.

Another thing is looking at our skills and what we need to get a job, and how to go about getting the skills we dont have.

I have learnt things that I already knew. I really suck at time management and it takes alot of effort on my part to make and stick to a plan. It doesnt help that I have small childern that are always throwing a spanner in the works, but thats not really a good excuse cause I'm not the only person with kids.

I have also learnt that my skills, even tho they are getting there, need alot of work. So I'm gonna go and do some work to help that situation.

Today we started a new subject and it should be a good one for me its called organise personal work priorities and development.

So basically its all about how to set goals and prioritise your time and manage your life which is something I need to learn to do even tho I have a very boring a quiet life. I think having the things I do in a proper order and with proper goals attached will help me achieve so much more rather than the theory of just going with the flow, its about time I had some proper direction in life.

We watched a short video on goal setting which I actually got a lot out of and definately gave me something to think about.

We also got our assessments and tasks that we have to do for this subject and I'm sure you will be hearing more about them on here in the weeks to come.

The last week of communicate electronically.

I have gained a lot of knowledge about electronic communication and social media over the past few weeks, which wasn't hard since I pretty much knew nothing to begin with.

Blogging has been a very interesting experience and I'm not sure if I will continue doing it only because it should be done on a regular basis and I don't always feel like talking, but you never know I just might get the bug, either that or go live in a tent somewhere away from all technology !!

The information we learnt about social media makes me very worried about the future for my children, there is so very many things to have to deal with while growing up and to add more to the mix is surely not a good thing, but hopefully with the knowledge I have gained and continue to gain I will be in a position to help them through all the dangers and make it a safe and happy experience for them.

I'm still stuck on the talk I have to give to the teenagers but I will plod through and hopefully have it and the last task finished this week.

So week 5.

This week was all about business and social media and the impact it has on us.

Most business utilise some form of social media these days and it ranges from a simple blog or page on something like Facebook to being involved in all the different types of media out there like Qantas. It seems that Qantas has decided the best way to reach the most people is to be everywhere and for them to be a semi successful international airline there must be some merit to it.

For business social medial is a very cost effective way to get to more people as paying for the production and delivery of printed material can be quite expensive not to mention the environmental effects it has. To be able to target your audience where it can have the most impact is a major factor and people can spend a lot of money finding that out as well, so as a business you obviously have to weigh up the pros and cons of where your money is best spent.

Only 1 more week to go and we have finished with this class and I still need to catch up on some projects.

So we are in week 4 I think.

Today we looked at social media and the dangers that are involved with such a method of communication. We saw a video that showed a boy that was being bullied and what he did to overcome the situation and it showed that there was more than 1 way out of any situation, you always have options.

We have to write a speech aimed at teenagers on the dangers of social media and one that is going to grab their attention which I'm finding very hard as i know teenagers think they know better and their attention span for an adult trying to tell them otherwise is about zero.

I also looked at the blogs that the other class members have been writing and they are very interesting I like reading the different views on how people see each class or topic.

These past few weeks have gone by very quickly and I have gone from being a long way in front of all my classes to being on an even level with most and a little behind on a couple so I'm endeavoring to catch up and get in front again.

Day 3

Well I have successfully survived this far which is a great achievement for me.

Today we learnt more about social media. Our class isn't really very tech savvy as we had to come up with as many different types of social media that we knew about and we ended up with a very small list.

We then had to pick one that we didn't know much about and do some research on and present to the class.

I chose pinterest as I do know alot of people that use it but had never looked at it myself. It was easy to find information about it and I found it to be very interesting and might even continue using it.

I am looking forward to seeing what the others have found out as I don't really know much about any of the sites apart form facebook and that is really boring and I hardly go on there these days.

We also looked into emails a little more in depth in particular learning all about the types of suspicious files and how to set up and use filters which I think is a very good idea.

Day Two

We started blogging !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive never tried this sort of thing before and so far it seems like an interesting thing to be doing. We started posting and also created a class one which we have to interact with.

We learnt all about good and bad blogs and had to search for ones we thought were good and bad.
I found that was a really hard task as I didnt realise just how many blogs are actually out there.

Some things to think about when blogging are:
Do you have the time to blog on a regular basis
Check your spelling
Add colour and pictures if possible
Dont talk forever
Dont be too personal or negative

Im not sure how good or bad my blog will be but it is a fun adventure and you never know it may end up being something I will continue after all this school stuff is done and maybe not.
